Available Roles

The 2018 Rockcliffe University Consortium Conference needs committee members to help with the planning and organization of the conference and annual general meeting. Volunteers receive a special conference rate in addition to a special take-home gift for contributing to the conference.

Peer Reviewers

Scholarly peer reviewers play a central role in validating research and helping to enforce the quality standards by which a conference is known. The Rockcliffe University Consortium Conference relies on the peer review process to evaluate the merits of submitted proposals and subsequent paper publication. As a Peer Reviewer you will be reviewing abstracts, some with papers attached, for inclusion into the conference program. Reviews will be double blind, and completed by April 22, 2018. Peer reviewers will be required to submit a curriculum vitae in order to match proposal submissions to reviewer knowledge base.

Session Facilitators

You will be guiding 30 minute structured interactive sessions that immediately follow lecture presentations. If you have a talent for herding cats and coordinating 20-30 people into an activity, you would be perfect for this position. Teachers are especially welcome. You will not be required to plan the session, but rather will follow a pre-set plan.

Social Media Facilitators

You will be helping with coordinating social media messages throughout the conference by:

• Managing back-channel questions to ask of speakers and presenters during their session
• Engaging with Virtual Attendees actively throughout the conference using social media
• Following up with post-presentation engagement (liaison with Programs Chair for specific details)
• Answering questions and comments

Note: Must have a valid Facebook, Twitter, and G+ account.

On-Site Hosts

You will be helping with coordinating on-site set-up, registrations, providing assistance to conference attendees, assisting with registration packages, and transporting food and beverages.

Technical Team

You will be helping people with their connections to access our WiFi and any specific downloads or software support issues.

Video and Photography

You will be helping with the video recording and uploading of sessions to our secure cloud hosting service. Photography of event proceedings for future marketing and promotion.

Video Post Production

You will be helping with post-production editing of video and sound. Post-production video will be made available to conference attendees.
